The first organized work of the Church was under the leadership of Mr. McNamara in the old Methodist Tabernacle on Market Street from 1898-1900.

From the above location the congregation moved to the Sanitarium Building on the corner of Market and Sixth Streets.

On March 10, 1902 under the leadership of Mr. Henry Lunger, the work was reorganized with nineteen (19) members meeting on the second floor of the Odd-Fellows Building, corner of Main and Iron Streets.

In 1903 the church moved to the corner of West street and Fourth street. Under the ministerial oversight of R. H. Sawtell, who also preached at Benton, a tabernacle approximately 40' X 25' was erected facing Fourth Street.

The church then was served for a few months by Pastor H. Dudley until George C. Zeigler took over in 1904, serving for a period of 7 (seven) years.

During Pastor Zeigler's ministry the Tabernacle property was sold to the Winona Fire Company for one thousand dollars, and a much larger, more comfortable and steam heated frame structure was erected next to the building on West Street. This frame structure was dedicated August 25, 1907.

Pastor Zeigler was succeeded by R. H. Bixell of whose ministry little is recorded save that he served well and was succeeded by Pastor Henry H. Carter who served for a period from 1911-1914.

The next ministerial successor was Pastor E.C.V. Huffer under whose preaching the congregation grew numerically which lead to the erection of the first unit of the present brick structure at the corner of Fourth & West Sts., Bloomsburg, which consisted of a church basement in 1915. For seven (7) years the church met in the basement looking forward to the completion of the church structure. During the seven years the congregation worshipped in the church basement J. A. Davis and T. C. Horn also served the congregation. Twelve more ministers served this church until the present.

In the year 2000 the church moved again to 107 Deussen drive.....Bloomsburg Christian Church currently has approximately 400 members. Our current address is 107 Deussen Drive, Bloomsburg, PA 17815. Our facility is in a beautiful setting of 29 acres located just South of Bloomsburg on Deussen Drive. It's a wonderful site which will house a sanctuary big enough for 500 worshippers. The grounds will consist of wooded areas, walking trails, and recreation fields. Already in place is the first phase of the project which houses a Sanctuary, a narthex, a Library, bible classes, a nursery, kid's room, youth room, an open air tabernacle and a one acre pond, great for fishing open to the community..

The congregation warmly invites you to join us in worship at our new location.

"Throughout the years, through trying and difficult days as well as bright days, God has blessed this Church, and surely the good hand which has led us in the past will still lead on into the future. With this faith and abiding trust in God's providence let us take new courage and go forward."
